The Rockin’ 1000 are an Italian supergroup of sorts, dubbing themselves “the biggest rock band on earth.” It’s a title we can’t quite deny—they’ve got over 1,000 band members.

All 1,000+ of them got together to cover Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” and it’s kind of amazing. Check it out below.

So just how do over a thousand people team up to create one band? Under the leadership of organizer Fabio Zaffagnini, musicians banded together for a massive Foo Fighters cover in a successful attempt to convince the American band to play a show in Italy. Since then, The Rockin’ 1000 have covered David Bowie and more. How cool is that?
