On August 1, Coldplay’s Chris Martin gave a moving performance of Linkin Park’s “Crawling” in tribute to the band’s late frontman, Chester Bennington.

Some of the best covers are the ones in which artists take a song and, without trying to perfectly recreate it, make it all their own. And Chris Martin did just that—the softer feel of this song turned it into a touching tribute.

LP’s Mike Shinoda agreed when he shared the performance, calling it “beautiful.”
