Lorde Debuts New Single and Other Coachella Day 3 Highlights

That’s a wrap on the first weekend of Coachella! We hope you were able to catch some of these up-and-coming acts, as well as some of your favorite artists through the live stream. But just in case you didn’t, we’re here to give you the rundown on some of the biggest moments of Coachella day 3.
Closing out the first weekend was Lorde, and she hit hard with the debut of a new Melodrama song “Homemade Dynamite.”
Lorde tells the crowd that her upcoming album is all about “the ups and downs of being a twenty-something.” She shares her fascination with the dichotomy of being in your twenties, when you can be out at the bars with your friends having the best time one minute and then going into the bathroom and realizing you look a “crime scene” the next. According to Lorde, “Homemade Dynamite” is about the better part of that dichotomy—having the best time with your friends.
Another standout moment came from Kendrick Lamar, whose show kept the crowd hype. And interestingly enough, film-score prodigy Hans Zimmer was met by some serious (and totally unexpected) crowd appreciation after performing songs off beloved soundtracks like Pirates of the Caribbean—he even brought Pharrell Williams on-stage!
