Batman Memories

June 12, 2017

When we learned this weekend that TV's original Batman, Adam West, had died, a little bit our childhoods died as well.

When I was a kid in the 1960s, it almost seemed like Batman was a part of my family.

That's because he was!

My little brother was pretty sure he WAS Batman for the first couple years of his life. And the show was on twice a week in its original run, so there was a lot of "Na na na na na Batman!" going on in our house! And then it went into syndication, so the Bat-fun continued.

As a kid, I didn't realize how campy and ridiculous the show was. I'm sure a lot of the jokes were over my head, and even though a lot of the guest villains were famous before Batman, I knew them only for the quests to bring Batman and Robin to their demise.

And check out these suprise visits that happened while the two Caped Crusaders made their Bat-climb up the walls of Gotham City.
