Gorillaz Play Intimate Brooklyn Show in Anticipation of Humanz Release

Last night (4/25), Gorillaz played at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade NYC. The intimate show served as a nice little preview for their forthcoming album, Humanz. Literally. Fans were greeted with a set list that touched every track on the soon-to-be released album.

The group played this bell periodically throughout the show, which was especially fitting for “We Got the Power.”

Lyrics from “We Got The Power”:
We've got the power to be
Ringing the great bell out there above us
We've got the power for that
We got the power to do that

But perhaps the best part of the show was when Damon Albarn searched the crowd for a random fan who could rap Del The Funky Homosapien’s part on “Clint Eastwood.” Sounds like this could be a summer tour precursor. (So what we’re saying is this: If you’re not already proficient in Del The Funky Homosapien’s part, get practicing for your thirty seconds of fame.)

Humanz drops this Friday, April 28—who’s psyched for Friday’s release and this summer’s tour?!
