Did you hear the punishment given to one of the players on the Chicago Cubs? Milton Bradley was suspended by the team for the rest of the season after saying some negative things about the organization.
Bradley said to a newspaper reporter that he understands why the Cubs haven't won the World Series in 100 plus years.
The Cubs decided to send Bradley home for the last few weeks of the season. Bad move. What kind of punishment is that?! He gets to leave a place he hates and still get paid!!
I think the Cubs should have Bradley stay around and perhaps do some "other" work around Wrigley Field.
Here are some suggestions:
1) Work as a vendor in the bleachers. I'm sure all those floppy hat wearing, non-baseball watching drunks will have a few choice words for Bradley.
2) Water the ivy on the outfield walls. The ivy was planted years ago by former White Sox owner Bill Veeck and Bradley can learn some history.
3) Run the giant manual centerfield scoreboard.
4) Spend a little time doing the team's laundry.
5) Be forced to listen to Sammy Sosa explain why he deserves to be in Hall of Fame.
Okay, maybe that last one is too harsh. No one should have to listen to Sosa.
