World's Worst iPod

It's back! Every Wednesday at 7:15, we play songs from the horrible iPod Kitty found while dumpster diving.

World's Worst iPod: Tainted Love by Soft Cell

This song was first recorded in 1965, but didn't become a hit until Soft Cell released it in 1981.  It was a number 1 song in the UK.  It took much longer for it to become a hit in the U.S.  It eventually went to number 8 in the U.S. and spent 43 weeks on the Hot 100.

This song rocks The longer version to it was much more cooler though. You also may or may not know that this song regained status from the movie "Coneheads",(not sure if that is the correct title of the movie)but all in all this was a great song.

Not nearly bad enough to be on the WWIpod
Nothing takes me back to my college days like having a few adult beverages and listening to the throngs of students sing along to Tainted Love at Camp Randall. For a great modern but retro take on the song, check out Imelda May's version on Imelda.TV.

The problem with holiday sweaters--and it's not that they're ugly
Holiday sweaters--oh we love to mock them! Ugly holiday sweater parties have become so mainstream that I feel they are no longer ironic. But that's not what I'm going to gripe about. My problem is that ugly holiday sweaters are now becoming...

Paolo Nutini - Caustic Love Paolo has been a friend of Triple M for years and his sound just keeps getting better and better. We've been playing "Let Me Down Easy" but one of my personal favorites is "Scream (Funk My Life Up) which has a pretty...

1. U2- Songs of Innocence: One of my favorite English poets is, William Blake. Jim Morrison of the Doors was so inspired by Blake's poetry, he used one of Blake's lines, "the doors of perception," to name the Doors….the Doors! So, this U2 album,...

World's Worst iPod: Carl Douglas "Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting"
It's hard to believe a novelty song like this went all the way up the charts to number one---but it did, and actually stayed there for two weeks! It seemed most everyone, excluding our meteorologist Brian Olson wanted to hear this song, which came...

10. George Ezra: Wanted On Voyage This 21 year old sings, writes all his own songs and plays guitar bass and keyboards. And his music is beautiful, haunting and old beyond his years. In addition to the hit "Budapest", I loved the haunting "Did you...

Rock Hall gets it right, honors Stevie Ray Vaughan
When the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2015 inductees this morning, I was very happy to see one of the names on the list: Stevie Ray Vaughan. Even though the late Texas guitar slinger has been eligible to get in since 2008, this is the...

Jeff the Promo Guy's Top 2014 Picks
2014 had a ton of great new album releases, and I easily came up with more than 10 to reference. I would have loved to include The Fray, Angus & Julia Stone, Bleachers, Alt-J, and George Ezra… but they just didn't make it on my Top 10 list. Here...
