World's Worst iPod: King Tut by Steve Martin
by World's Worst iPod,posted Jul 9 2013 8:52AM
In the mid to late 70's, the tomb of the Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun was on tour in the United States. It inspired comedian Steve Martin to write a song which made it to number 17 on the charts in 1978. Jonathan and most of the Triple M listeners loved the song, but Kitty didn't want to hear it. She doesn't mind the song, but her friends failed to buy her a ticket to see his show back in 1978 so she's still bitter.
I saw the Steve Martin concert in Madison at the Coliseum. It was hilarious. HEaring the song just makes me smile.
By the way, I really can't believe that all of these (mostly) horrible songs came from one source.. Was it a joke iPod? Have you added to the song list? How could anyone possible scour the years of horrible songs and put them together-especially years ago when you found it. It continues to make me shake my head. Ever find out where it came from?
