The Trashmen set out to record a bad song, but just the opposite happened. Everyone loved it and it made it all the way to number 4. Perhaps Peter from Family Guy loves it the most.

Songwriter Burt Bacharach penned this song in the late 60's and the 5th Dimension took it all the way to number 2 in 1970. Harry Nilsson didn't write this song. In fact, when he first heard it he thought it was a Beatles tune. When he found out it was written by Badfinger, he decided to record it. Good decision considering the song was number 1 for four weeks in 1972. It was also number one in England, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand.
Kitty saw John Waite in Steven's Point back in 1984 and wanted to relive the experience this morning. This song made it to number 1 in 1984 and it was number 1 in a lot of listeners' hearts too. Jonathan didn't feel like hearing the song this morning, but he was in the minority.

One small detail I like about Bonnaroo ... the security people's shirts say "Safety" and "Here to help". They seem well-trained and they do the things security folk do ... but I like the emphasis on safety and that they're doing these things...
The Jack Johnson show last night was terrific. He'd been coming just to hang out with other musicians, maybe do a late night jam with friends in ALO. Very low-pro, as Jack said. That changed when Mumford had their medical emergency...
Still no mag. This is as close as my phone zoom can get. The dancers are sparkly. Bjork has a dress that looks like duct work from a dryer vent. The hat face thing looks like a cross between bubble wrap and pinhead from Hellraiser. Which could all be...
We waited at the main gate for over a half hour. A dozen safety full were poised to open the fences. Three on horseback provided back up. When they opened them up, it was a speed walk at first. Upon seeing that another, distant gate had...
