Is there anything the boys from U2 can't do? In case you missed it, U2 has managed to create a no-holds barred, full fledged attack on the world with their new album. It' s called No Line on the Horizon and it just came out last week.
To "celebrate" U2 appeared on David Letterman all week as the musical guest. I believe they hung out with Katie Couric too, Bono delivered a few babies at a local New York hosptial, The Edge drove a New York City bus for a few hours, Larry Mullen helped fill pot holes around the city and Adam Clayton worked in a soup kitchen serving the less fortunate. After that was completed, I believe they visited with the Pope, who blessed the new album.
They're not finished yet either. On Tuesday they will be taking over radio stations, including Triple M, at 8pm to play music and help solve the world's problems.
The funny thing, it doesn't really bother me. You'd think that a band that has been around as long as U2 and is as popular as U2 wouldn't really have to do that much promotion for their new album. However, these guys are going at it like their lives depended on it. It could seem potentially annoying, but it's really not.
I admire that these guys are still going at it full force and are still passionate about the music. Let's be honest, U2 could put out an album of Bono reading the alphabet and lots of people would still buy it.
