If you were to describe me to your friends, I'm pretty sure the words fashion show and brides would not be mentioned. But you would be wrong!
For more years than I want to remember, I have been the announcer at Joy Publications's Wedding Planner and Guide Bridal Shows, one weekend in Madison, and the following weekend in Milwaukee.
Since I have been doing this for so long, the models, the staff, the vendors and the guys running the music and I have bonded and the show weekends are like a family reunion.
For me, the first show is always a challenge because it's the first time I will see the models and hear the music. I have no idea what the clothes will look like and what special things they have been planning. There's nothing like a dress rehearsal in front of hundreds of people to get a girl's adrenaline flowing.
But, boy, is it fun. See! I'm smiling!
I can't wait for next year to do it all over again.
