Three Cheers for Number 4?

favreShould Packer fans really give Brett Favre a standing ovation when he comes back to Lambeau Field a week from Sunday?  I read a column by Associated Press writer Tim Dahlberg who suggested fans stand up and cheer for Favre when he comes to the Frozen Tundra, which probably won't be too frozen on November 1st. Should Packer fans do it?  In some ways it's hard for me to comment because I'm a Chicago Bear fan and you probably think I'm just trying to complicate things.  If you step back from the situation and really think about it, a standing ovation is probably a good idea.  I don't know if Favre was really trying to stick it to the Packers when he decided to play for the Vikings.  Even if joined the Vikings to spite the Packers he was doing it to Packer management and not the fans. Remember this:  Brett Favre has played football his entire adult life and loves it.  Imagine if you had a job you loved but once you retired you could NEVER do that job again...ever.  That's a tough thing to decide when you're just 40.  I think Favre is playing football because he still loves the game.  So you can honor him with applause, but then root for the Packers to win.  Favre loves competition and would probably be disappointed if you didn't boo when he throws a touchdown as a Viking.

We still miss you Stevie Ray Vaughan
It's hard to believe it's been 24 years since we lost Stevie Ray Vaughan in that helicopter crash after a show at Alpine Valley. I've talked to lots of people who were at that concert, which also featured Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, and...

It's hard to believe that Donny Osmond scored his second biggest solo hit in 1989, but it's true! "Soldier of Love" went all the way to #2 on the charts. When the song was released, the record company was afraid no one would buy a...

World's Worst iPod: Exile "Kiss You All Over"
Kitty thought this song was an example of country disco and was not a fan...but just about everybody else was. "Kiss You All Over" was #1 for four weeks in 1978, and was probably one of the year's best songs. Exile rocks out with the...

The next Jonny Lang? Quinn Sullivan is the real deal
I was up in Wausau for the Big Bull Falls Blues Fest, and had a great time watching all the great live music. The big surprise of the day was the guy who played at 3pm. He's just 15 years old and is a good friend of Buddy Guy, and even got to play...

World's Worst iPod: Young MC "Bust a Move"
Kitty apppeared to be all alone on her dislike of this song, which made it to #7 on the charts in 1989. Rolling Stone described the song this way: "a G-rated funk-bomb integral to hip-hop's eventual mainstream acceptance." The...
