The Verdict is in...Jonathan is out!

I had to report for jury duty on Monday.  When I told people I had been called, most asked how I was planning to get out of it.  I didn't want to get out of it.  I was actually excited to serve. I was on a jury once while living in Houston, Texas.  It was a dispute over a guy running into a dump truck.  We gave both drivers the electric chair.   Come on, it's Texas.  The second case was here in Dane County.  I was selected to be on the jury, but we never served because the case was dropped. This time I was ready to go and pretty excited to serve some justice COLD.  Isn't that the what they say?  "Justice is a dish best served cold!"   No?  Apparently, I'm getting my sayings mixed up. Anyway, I made it all the way to the jury box and was one of 20 people in the running to be selected.  The case was about two guys who started a company and one of them decided to leave and wanted some cash from the other guy.  No, it wasn't the case of Claus von Bulow, but I was still excited to be a part of the justice system. We had to fill out a sheet with our name, education, job, spouse's name and job.  I wrote Radio Announcer for my job.  Here's what the lawyers asked me: Lawyer: You are on the radio? Me: Yes Lawyer: What kind of degree do you have? Me: Journalism Lawyer: Thank you. That was it!  After they asked other potential jurors much more detailed question, they made their picks and I was out.   I walked out with the other non-jurors who were all thrilled to be free.  Not me.  I was ready.  I'm still trying to figure out if I could have answered my questions better.   Perhaps, it was the  shirt I was wearing...
