President Barack Obama is getting some heat for calling Kanyne West a jackass. How stupid. The thing that concerns me more than the leader of the free world having something to say about a performer is the way it all happened.
Obama was speaking to members of the press and it was before the official interview began. Someone asked him what he thought about Kanye West interupting Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Of course, the whole subject is silly and it doesn't really matter but I'm glad our President was hip enough to even know the incident happened. Obama said he thought West was a jackass, but then immediately said the media should give him a break because he has a lot of other important issues on his plate.
Too late.
Someone from ABC had already thrown the comment up on Twitter. So now it's an issue. Is it a good thing that someone can say something and then millions of people instantly know about it?
On one hand it's a great way to disseminate information, but on the other hand it's becoming a dangerous tool where things can get blown out of proportion.
I guess its great that every moron can blog and tweet, but remember when we used to have editors?
