Today’s blog was going to be about Andrew Bird. With the last name Bird, he will go down in history among the other greats with the same last name, such as Larry Bird. And Big Bird. Not to completely discredit this young, talented, somewhat handsome artist, I will be setting him aside until my next blog. (However, as I write I do have his music playing in the background).
After last night, as I was laying in bed tossing and turning and being kicked and pushed off my bed by a 2 year old, I’ve decided to tell you the real truth to why I’m thrilled to be attending Bonnaroo. I’ve hinted a few times that I’m the mother of 2 lovely children. Now, I could have pulled that sympathy card in my contest video. I could have sobbed to each and every one of you that I NEED a vacation!! Please feel sad and vote for me because I NEED a break! But I didn’t. I utilized my creativity instead. I made you smile. I won fair and square. And now I’m saying, I cannot wait to have five full child free days. Five full days of frolicking about, doing anything I please. Five full days of music and beverages. Five full days of relaxation. Of course, I’ll miss my children and will drown them in attention when I return. It’s a win/win for everyone, you see. They will be spoiled by grandparents. I will be spoiled by VIP camping and great company.
How many more nights of restless sleep?
27 my friends. Only 27.
Stay tuned for Andrew Bird.

In 1968, Jeannie C. Riley topped both the pop and country charts with "Harper Valley PTA". She was the first female singer to accomplish that feat and it wasn't repeated until Dolly Parton did it in 1981 with the song "9 to 5". The song was...

One small detail I like about Bonnaroo ... the security people's shirts say "Safety" and "Here to help". They seem well-trained and they do the things security folk do ... but I like the emphasis on safety and that they're doing these things...
