It seems state fairs across the country are always trying to one-up each other. Deep fried beer! Deep fried butter! Hamburgers served on donut-buns!
The Wisconsin State Fair kicks off today, and while I'm pretty sure they have all that stuff, they're also trying to break a couple world records. One for world's biggest cream puff (Wisconsin's newly crowned official dessert), and the other for world's largest cheese sculpture.
Now they're teasing us a bit at the fair. While they do say that Sarah the Cheese Lady will be there August 12th thru the 14th to do the carving, they're not revealing what the the subject of the sculpture will be.
Hmmm. That gets my curiosity going.
Cheese in the shape of Wisconsin, or maybe a badger? How about Gov. Scott Walker? He doesn't live too far away from State Fair Park.
No, that might be a bit of a security risk. A giant cheesy Brett Favre would have fallen into that same category a year or two ago, but now that would just be...well....sad.
My best guess is it will have something to do with Super Bowl Champions, the Green Bay Packers.
Or maybe it will be a cheese sculpture of a giant cream puff.
