Did you see the You Tube video of the guy who came across a lost dog while kayaking? Rory O' Connor was fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and suddenly saw a dog swimming. He happened to have a camera taping his fishing adventure so the entire incident is on video.
The dog is okay, but how he got there is rather sad.
The dog is named Barney and he was jogging with his owner, 53-year-old Donna Chen at about 1 in the afternoon last week. She was hit by a drunk driver and killed. I've heard many stories of dogs staying by their fallen owner, but in this case Barney ran away. He must have been so freaked out running was the only option. He ran and ran until he reached the water and then he just started swimming. O'Connor pulled him and brought him to shore. Eventually he figured out Barney had an ID chip and was able to connect the dots. The man accused of killing Chen was in court earlier this week and is facing several charges including DUI manslaughter.
