What does Kitty have to say?

Sons of the Beatles--don't do it!

Paul McCartney's son James mentioned to a BBC reporter that he's reached out to the sons of other Beatles, in an effort to put together a musical group of some sort.

What a bloody stupid idea.

Now Zak Starkey is a drummer who's played in his dad's All-Star Band and in the Who. Jason Starkey has done some drumming as well, in bands with fascinating names including The Exploding Nudists.  Dhani Harrison has dipped his beatletoe into several difference musical waters..working on his dad's album Brainwashed and various George tributes, and in the bands Fistful of Mercy and thenewno2.

The young McCartney appears to have the least musical experience of all.

But it doesn't matter how much musical experience they have. They could have all gone to Julliard and they still woudn't measure up to the Beatles. And I'm not just saying that because I'm such a HUGE fan of the group. They are without a doubt the most famous band of our lifetime, loved by millions and millions of people. Even people who aren't big fans respect them for their talent and the changes they brought to the world of music.

Anything this new group would be compared to the Beatles. I can just see the headlines of the reviews.

Beatles II--getting better all the time--NOT

Beatles II--Being for the benefit of no one

Beatles II--They can't work it out

Beatles II-And your bird can sing, but this band can't..

Beatles II--Help! This music is awful

Beatles II--Love Me Don't

You get the idea. Just don't do it guys!

Here To Help
One small detail I like about Bonnaroo ... the security people's shirts say "Safety" and "Here to help". They seem well-trained and they do the things security folk do ... but I like the emphasis on safety and that they're doing these things...
