I haven’t worn cologne since I was a teenager, but I might reconsider. There’s a new set of fragrances coming soon that are sure to be “winners”. An East coast company called Epic Scents is making new signature smells based on video games.
Holy Pac Man!
I’m not sure what a video game character really smells like, but they’re going to give it a try. Actually, the company is starting out by introducing air fresheners first. The creators also stress it’s not what the character smells like, but what smell expresses him.
The first character who will receive a smell is Mega Man from the old 1987 NES game. I’m personally not too familiar with that character, but I can think of some others.
The monkey from Donkey Kong. His smell could be a mix of his own feces and maybe a rubber tire.
Space Invader alien. Have you ever been stuck sitting in a crowded airplane waiting on the tarmac for hours? That would be the perfect smell for an alien who has traveled millions of light years to invade earth.
Prostitutes from Grand Theft Auto. Let’s get into the modern era of video games. This “lovely” lady probably smells like spray-on tan, cigarettes, chewing gum and a Pabst beer.
Good luck to Epic Scents. I think they’ll do okay as long as they don’t capture the smell of all those people who spend more time playing video game then on personal hygiene.
