Simon & Garfunkel coming to Madison!

It was just announced that Simon & Garfunkel are coming to Madison to play the Kohl Center, Sunday May 9th. That's very exciting news to the 13 year old girl that still lives within me. When I was a kid growing up in Stevens Point, "Simon & Garfunkel's Greatest Hits" was one of the first albums I owned. And I played it over and over and over.  It was perfect music to feel sorry for yourself to. "I am a rock, I am an island," sang Paul and Art. "Me too! I'm an island! No one understands me!" The only thing I didn't like about it is that side 2 ended with a real rockin' song, "Cecilia" which followed up two really dreamy, mellow songs ("El Condor Pasa" and "Bookends"). I usually would drift off into a nap during one of those songs..and then get awakened with a start to "Cecilia."  And the fact that  the lyrics mentioned "making love with Cecilia" up in Paul Simon's bedroom made me blush a little. Tickets for the Simon & Garfunkel show go on sale next week..click on our Concert section for more info. And while we wait for them to get here, enjoy this related clip from the HBO Show Flight of the Conchords.
