Restaurant Week: Francesca's al Lago

One of the things that makes the dead of winter bearable in Madison is Madison Magazine's Restaurant Week.  This is a chance to get out and enjoy an amazing meal and at a great price.  Click here to see all the restaurants participating.
Lindsay and I decided to go to Francesca's al Lago at 111 Martin Luther King Blvd for dinner.  This restaurant started in Chicago and we've been to several locations there in the past.  The Madison edition of Francesca's is great.  The service is very friendly and attentive and the decor is bright and friendly, but the food is even better.

Lindsay started with the tomato bisque soup which was rich and flavorful.  I went with the salad.  It had romaine lettuce with plenty of carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes. arugula with red wine vinaigrette.  The salad was huge and delicious.   Lindsay had a few bites as well.

For dinner I went with the Lemon Chicken. The portion was very generous and featured two chicken breasts with a lemon white wine sauce and capers as well as plenty of fresh sautéed spinach. Lindsay went with the roasted tilapia with wild mushrooms, spinich, tomatoes and herbs. We switched meals have way through and decided both were perfect.

For dessert we got Tiramisu.  It was gigantic and amazing.  We also got profiterole.  It was filled with pistachios and I want to eat it every night.

I expect a great meal from Francesca's and they did not disappoint.

One small detail I like about Bonnaroo ... the security people's shirts say "Safety" and "Here to help". They seem well-trained and they do the things security folk do ... but I like the emphasis on safety and that they're doing these things...
