The U.S. Supreme Court Justices are meeting today to discuss the issue of swearing on television. A few years ago Bono dropped an 'F' bomb on a live awards show. Nicole Richie has done the same thing. NYPD Blue once showed a woman's bare behind and we all can recall Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" during a Super Bowl halftime show. Each time the network carrying the broadcast was fined the Federal Communications Commission, but those rulings have been appealed. The topic has finally made it all the way to the Supreme Court.
Honestly, I don't think swearing is the most offensive thing on television. I can think of a lot of things that are much worse and should be banned instead:
1. Flavor Flav and Dee Snider on Celebrity Wife Swap
2. Nancy Grace on Dancing with the Stars
3. America's Funniest Home Videos (Come on people! Do we really need to see another kid getting hit by a whiffle bat?!)
4. Kate Plus 8 (I know this show is no longer on, but she should be arrested)
5. The Bachelor (I thought this show would be gone long ago. How can Republicans be against gay marriage, but think this show is a good idea?!)
6. The Bachelorette (See number 5)
7. Dick Clark being allowed to "chat" with Ryan Seacrest live on national telelvision. (I respect you Mr. Clark, but come on!)
8. Whitney on NBC (Does anyone like this show?)
9. Rick Santorum explaining his vision for America
10. Bill O' Reilly's "fair and balanced" interviews
