What does Gabby have to say?

RIP Mikey

Mikey, the orange kitty came into my life in 2000. After the loss of my younger brother to cancer and my mother to a broken heart less than 18 months later, my Dad was bereft in the family home of upstate NY. I had lived in Madison for years and was anxious to return, so I moved back and shortly after, dad followed. I was always a daddy's girl, so it was an honor for me to help him through his latter years, which included senile dementia. He never lost his personality, but ended up as a terrible flirt with no " self-edit" button. He was a handful. And lonely in his senior residence. So I got him Mikey, named by dad after my late brother Michael. The first time dad said he was excited to get back home to see the cat, I knew we had done the right thing. Mikey sat on dad's lap for years being petted and pampered. When he could no longer care for the cat, I brought him home with me. Big Piggy didn't mind and we were a 2 cat household.  feb08-005 About 10 days ago we noticed Mikey seemed lethargic and looked like he was losing weight. End result, fatal liver damage caught too late. I thank the McFarland Animal Hospital. He went peacefully. I'm still crying. RIP you sweet kitty

You gave Mikey a great life. I hope you can find comfort in the fact that you gave him the best of everything.

Gabby, My 16 year old cat died peacefully in my arms over 4 years ago, & I'm surprised that tears can still roll down my cheeks when I hear of another's loss. Allow that water to flow freely. We love, we lose, it hurts. Then we love some more. As Humans, we're lucky that way. Dianne

World's Worst iPod: Kajagoogoo "Too Shy"
Gotta love the '80s! Depending on who you're talking to, Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy" is either a song that defines the decade, in a good way, or it's a song that gives all other '80s songs a bad name. It made it to #5 on the charts in...

5 Things You Probably Didn't Know about Birthday Boy Neil Young
Happy 69th birthday to my favorite self-proclaimed "rich hippie," Neil Young. I remember when I was a kid, I hated Neil's voice. I didn't even particularly care for his songs CSNY albums, but the guy grew on me, and he's now one of my...

World's Worst iPod: Mac and Katie Kissoon "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep"
There was a lot of love this morning for a song that made it up to #20 in 1971 for the brother sister team of Mac and Katie Kissoon. The pair hailed from Trinidad and this was their only Top 40 hit.
