Apparently Olympic pride is getting some people a little too worked up. There’s a story in the Daily Mail about a guy who was on the beach in the south of France. He was so excited about the Olympics that he wanted to swim to America.
Yes, swim to America.
I know there are really good swimmers out there, but I’d say the only mammals that could go that distance are whales. His friends thought he was kidding and let him jump in the water and start swimming.
He didn’t stop.
Eventually the lifeguards couldn’t see him and a helicopter was sent out to find him. They did find him and he was still swimming. The helicopter crew sent someone down by rope to tell him he had to swim more than 3-thousand miles to get to America. According to the Daily Mail, he was still confident he could make it. After a few more minutes, the rescue crew convinced him to give up and brought him back to safety.
I understand the guy liking the summer games, but perhaps it would be better to buy a few Olympic t-shirts or sweatshirts instead?
