As someone who loves the warmth of listening to music on vinyl, and loves the Beatles..I think it's pretty cool that the best selling vinyl record in 2011 was Abbey Road.
It's actually held the top spot for three years in a row! Last year, 41-thousand copies of the last album the Beatles recorded, up from around 35-thousand the prior two years.
And can you believe it, I wasn't one of the fans that snapped up a copy. I do have my original Abbey Road that I got for Christmas in the 1970's, as well as an original pressing that I picked up at a Goodwill store a few years ago. But maybe I need to grab another one..just to keep their streak going in 2012. Thanks to a quick search on the internet, I found it wouldn't be hard to find. They even have the Abbey Road vinyl LP online at Target.
In case you're not familiar with the kind of music the Beatles play, Target has them categorized for you. It's sunshine pop, psychedelic, album rock, AM pop, Bright psychedelic, hard rock and rock n roll.
