Green Day has just released the first single from their album, ¡Uno! which comes out September 25th, as the first part of a trilogy.
The new song is called "Oh Love," and it's definitely a different direction from the politically minded songs we got on 21st Century Breakdown and American Idiot.
Billie Joe Armstrong said a while ago that the new album was going to be about sex, and more recently he told Billboard that he wants to write "killer songs, but I want them threaded together and to speak to each other within an album, which in this case is basically inside three albums."
¡Dos! ¡Tré! will be released in three stages, with the first album '¡Uno!' coming out on September 25. The second LP ¡Dos! comes out in November and ¡Tré! in January, 2013.
I think my favorite line in "Oh Love" is "I'm wearing my heart on a noose."
