What does Kitty have to say?

Naughty, naughty journalist

capitol1Once upon a time, a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I fancied myself to be a real radio journalist. Flirted for a time with the idea of working really hard and trying to get a job at a radio network. Like I said...that was a long time ago. There's still a molecule or two of that youthfully enthusiastic young gal left..and she feels kinda bad about what we pulled on the radio today.  No, Dick and Lynne Cheney are not donating $25 million to bail out Madison's Overture Center. What of Peter Wellington, the spokesperson for the Dick and Lynne Cheney Arts Foundation? That was my brother, John. Well-played, I must say.  (you can hear the interview by clicking on our homepage, in the Audio Clips section). We had a good time putting together the press release which you can read here.  I hope you realize it was all in good fun, with absolutely no malice directed toward the Cheneys. If you were duped, I hope you don't stay mad at us too long. At least it wasn't as wild as what the Capital Times printed back in 1933, saying the dome of the Capitol had blown off, due to mysterious explosions they attributed to "large quantities of gas, generated by weeks of verbose debate in the  Senate and Assembly chambers."

That one was listed as one of the Top 100 Pranks of All Time by the Museum of Hoaxes.

Now Jonathan and I have a goal to work toward!  Can't wait 'til next year.

You totally fooled my coworker, who ran into the office all freaked out. It was GREAT. (Especially if you click on my link and realize who you fooled...a fellow journalist. Aren't we supposed to be cynical and world-weary?) Cheers, Lindsay
