What does Jonathan have to say?

My One Chance

If there was someone who truly had been annoying you the last eight years and you finally had a chance to "tell them off" would you do it?  It seems like a no-brainer right?   Someone has been a thorn in your side and now you can finally meet them face to face and tell them they stink. I had that opportunity over the Fourth of July holiday weekend as I was sitting just a few feet away from former Vice President Dick Cheney. Hear me talk about it on air adamsLet me give you a little background.  I was celebrating the holiday in Jackson Hole, Wyoming with Lindsay and her parents.  Her folks have a condo and visit there a few times a year.  If you haven't been to Jackson Hole, it's a great little cowboy town with awesome skiing in the winter, beautiful hikes in the summer and tons of buffalo all year round.  Some of photographer Ansel Adams most famous pictures are from there. Several famous people including Tiger Woods, Harrison Ford and Sandra Bullock all hang out in Jackson Hole. Despite all these great features it has another feature: Dick Cheney.  He also likes Jackson Hole and has lived there during the summer months for many years.  Last time I checked July is in summer, so there was an excellent chance he was going to be there. However, just because he was going to be in the same town as me doesn't mean I would run into him.  I kept thinking that very thought until Lindsay's dad told me Cheney comes to the 4th of July parade year.  Yes, we were also going to the parade.  As we were getting some prime real estate for parade watching, Lindsay's dad pointed just a few feet away and told me that's usually where Cheney sits to watch the parade. Sure enough about a half hour later he showed up.  He had a cowboy hat, cane and his wife Lynne by his side.  I've met a couple cheneyof high ranking politicians over the years including Jimmy Carter and the first George Bush.   So this really should not have been that big a deal. People were walking up to him and shaking his hand and taking pictures with him.  He was smiling and laughing and seemed to be enjoying himself. At first I was just going to go up and take a picture from a distance.  Kinda like all the pictures of buffalo I had captured earlier in the day.  Then I thought, I'd rather go up and say something to him. My mind was racing.  I thought about starting off very pleasant and making reference to the UW because his wife actually got her Phd here.  Cheney even started his doctoral studies here, but never finished.  I thought I would lull them into thinking I was a fan and then I'd let him have it!  I'd complain about everything from Halliburton to his hunting  habits. I imagined Cheney getting so steamed and the huge Secret Service agents hauling me off.  I wouldn't get to see the parade, but it would be worth it!  I'd have the chance to really tell the man what I thought.  Let's be honest, how many times have you complained about the Bush/Cheney administration.  Here was my chance. So did I do it?  Did I give him my two cents?  Did I let him know that even though his time as Vice President is over, I'm still disgusted?  As you can see from the picture below, I actually had more important people to meet during the parade.  So the answer is no.img_3569

Hey everybody, we were thrown for a loop by the twist this week, but were able to make one of our "oldie but a goldie" songs fit the mold. We have a few songs that we have played consistently over the years, and we are very happy that we will be...

Twist and Turn
We just received word of what this weeks twist is, and...oh boy. We need to take our "signature song" and cut it to only 2:30 without going over. Amberstein does not simply play 2:30 versions of our songs...so this could be interesting. Last...

World's Worst iPod: You Don't Bring Me Flowers
There's only one thing that might be worse than the Neil Diamond/Barbra Streisand duet "You Don't Bring Me Flowers." And that's Jonathan Suttin doing his best crooning...doing both parts. Most unpleasant. A lot of people liked this song...
