More Than We Expected

Yesterday did not go as expected. It went BETTER than expected!! We began our day pretty tired from the night before. We had learned our grounds, where we could and couldn't go. These media passes don't get us backstage for the bigger guys like Bruce Springsteen (bummer) but, they do get us into the the press conferences and we've found that's where the true fun is! So after we had planned out our day and decided to check out some comedy we began to hear some singing in the distance that sounded a lot like Jimmy Buffet. We thought we'd check it out since even if it wasn't Jimmy, the guy sure came close. It was a complete secret that Jimmy Buffet was going to be here!! And my husband happens to be his biggest fan! After a great concert we made our way back to the press conference area where we were able to meet him. Unfortunately, his two HUGE bodyguards wanted him out of there quickly so we did manage to get a picture with him but not his autograph. After Jimmy we headed onto Bon Iver. We were able to get backstage, and sneaky little me, I dragged us past our normal viewing area to the designated photographer section so we could get a closer look. That lasted about 1/2 hour before his bodyguards caught us! Ha! Living life on the edge, right?! But it was all perfect timing because the concert was coming to an end so we decided to get in line for Jimmy Fallon. Basically, all in all, everything just feel into place yesterday. We ended up with excellent seats for Jimmy Fallon and didn't stop laughing for about 2 hours straight! My face literally hurt from laughing so hard. I have managed to gather a lot of video, however, the internet access here in the middle of nowhere isn't the best. I'm not going to risk loading it while I'm here, but plan to post a great video recap of our adventures when we return. This also explains why the blogs have been few and far between. I really WANT to...but the internet gods aren't letting me! So I apologize for that. Today we are getting ready for another big day starting with Citizen Cope, followed by Erykah Badu and then Snoop Dogg. I'm an crossing my fingers that Citizen Cope and Snoop Dogg do a press conference tonight. I guess only time will tell. Either way, I'm grateful for the memories I've made thus far. We been having an incredible time that I will never forget. --posted by Trish DeFever

Have you heard the song "Rumble and Sway" yet on Triple M? The singer sounds like a raspy blues dude who's definitely been around the block a few times....but surprisingly, Jamie N. Commons is only 23 years old! He was born in England, but...

New food of the week: Kale
Last week, I decided I would try one new, healthy food a week, and asked my facebook friends to make some suggestions. The first thing I tried was mango. I'm sure I've had other mango flavored things, and mango as part of something else, but...

World's Worst iPod: You Don't Bring Me Flowers
There's only one thing that might be worse than the Neil Diamond/Barbra Streisand duet "You Don't Bring Me Flowers." And that's Jonathan Suttin doing his best crooning...doing both parts. Most unpleasant. A lot of people liked this song...

Getting It Tight
Last weeks challenge we thought went excellent! Of course we are a little biased. The drinking song couldn't have been any better, or any less fun. We had a blast through out the whole process, and our performance rocked. This week is an easy...

World's Worst iPod: The Girl is Mine by Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney
So the story goes Michael Jackson completed this song while watching cartoons with Paul McCartney. We'll just let that sink in for a moment. Not sure what cartoons they were watching, but it must have worked because this song made it to number 2...

Who said it? Dolly, or the Dalai Lama?
The Dalai Lama is back in town, sharing his message of peace and kindness with likeminded individuals, and the Wisconsin legislature. He also held a private meeting with Gov. Walker, who said he mostly listened to what His Holiness had to say (wise...

World's Worst iPod: Somethin' Stupid by Frank and Nancy Sinatra
This duet by Ol' Blue Eyes and his daughter went all the way to number 1 back in 1967. It seems a little creepy that Frank and Nancy Sinatra are singing a love song. However, a lot of Triple M listeners were in the mood for it. Here's...
