Listen: The xx 'Open Eyes' Demo

The xx are an indie pop band from London. Their 2009 self produced debut earned them a Mercury prize and landed in the top ten of Rolling Stone's year end "Best Of" list.

Jamie Smith aka Jamie xx the band's producer, percussionist, and dj extraordinaire has worked with Adele and the late Gil-Scott Heron.  He says, "Club music has definitely had an influence on the new record.  As with everything with The xx I'm just trying to keep it simple.  I just use logic and a space echo, a bunch of pre-amps and occasionally some Casios."

The band just unleashed a demo from the upcoming release.  Look for the new record to drop in the spring. They're already confirmed to play some European festivals the middle of next year.  Check out the Open Eyes demo here.

Gotta love the '80s! Depending on who you're talking to, Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy" is either a song that defines the decade, in a good way, or it's a song that gives all other '80s songs a bad name. It made it to #5 on the charts in...
