Oasis were the biggest band in the UK for over a decade. The band split after a backstage punch up between brothers Liam and Noel minutes before a headlining gig in Paris two years ago. According to Liam, "I don't regret having an argument with our kid [Noel], I don't regret the break up, it had to happen."
Noel just dropped his first solo record in the U.S. since the split. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds debuted at number one in the UK last month. You can stream the full-length here. Noel says, “The only thing I was certain of with this album was that ‘The Death of You and Me’ be the first single. I just thought now wasn’t the time for grandstanding. I thought it was time to be a little more cool and calm.”
I'm not sure why Pete Yorn decided to name his new music project after a European cave dwelling aquatic salamander, but if he stops by to play us some songs in Studio M, we'll have to ask him.
