Dear Packer Nation:
I know you're annoyed right now. I know you expected to win another Super Bowl. I also know you probably don't want to hear anything from a Chicago Bears fan. However, I think this may make you feel a little better.
I was very happy the Packers lost yesterday. Now you're even more upset, but please read on.
An ex-girlfriend once said to me, "The opposite of love is indifference not hate. It's better to be hated because that means the person still cares about you."
I care about the Packers losing. That may not sound like much of a consolation prize, but think about this for a moment. Do you have any feeling about the Houston Texans? Whether they win or lose doesn't really matter. Tampa Bay Buccaneers? Seattle Seahawks? Jacksonville Jaguars? Cleveland Browns? Do you have any feelilngs about any of those teams? Here's another one: New York Yankees. Either you love them or hate them, but more importantly you have a feeling about them.
Although this season ended in disappointment, you can feel proud that there are tons of people who are happy about your misery. As crazy as that sounds, it's actually a complement and confirms the Green Bay Packers are one of the most storied sports teams ever.
...I don't listen to "Triple M" just a choice ...what is this guy a FM jock or a psychologist. At least The majority of people in the country are "happy"...really. It's a flippin' GAME, not life and death...however, all kidding aside, there was a loss, which affected a team, coaches and a small town in Northeast Wisconsin. It's not an excuse...it's reality...a reaction to the loss of a young mans life and a father who lost a son.
I enjoy the game of football, I know the focus it takes to play at a high level. One good team won, another good team looses, happens most everyday in a variety of sports. The lose of life occurs everyday...when the two events come together it has a marked effect on the people involved...human nature.
You were looking for a reaction to your post...to banter about on the radio...you got one...a small victory for your entertainment.

What a Bear Fan?
I'm not sure how to read your take on the Packer's recent loss to the New York Giants. Basically Green Bay did not play well, 7 dropped passed, 2 missed throws that were probably touchdowns and two fumbles, not to mention all of New York's 3rd and long conversions. Our defense was suspect all year with no pass rush, and poor safety play, but we have been happy 15 times this year. We still have a core of solid players lead by Arron Rodgers and Clay Mathews, and will be one of the favorites to go to the Super Bowl next year. DaBears are a great rival, a team we respect always for their ability and loyal fans, the Vikings on the other hand are a different story. Life goes on, every Packer game win or loose is a celebration by the dedicated fans of the Green and Gold. I suspect you are more jealous of Green Bay being voted "America's Team" than of our long history of success.
