It's that time of year again..when news organizations all over the country bombard us with stories about last minute income tax filers. And as a public service, those stories usually include some tips for all of the procastinaters out there.
And as usual, I am right on that bandwagon with all the other lazy journalists out there, who just haul out the same stories year after year.
But I think my tips are much more useful.
1. No matter how intuitive it may seem, negative thoughts are not tax deductible.
2. On the up side, you also don't have to pay tax on positive thoughts!
3. Don't forget to include the correct postage. Writing "Uncle Sam's got this one" in the corner of the envelope will not suffice.
4. Don't forget to sign your return. Unsigned returns, according to the I.R.S, do not exist.
5. Resist the temptation to sign your return Penny Lessenbroke. The folks at the Internal Revenue Service will not read the name out loud and will not get the joke.
