Kitty Dunn

What does Kitty have to say?

Kitty's Presidential Library

Today's the dedication of the George W. Bush Presidential Library.  It's huge--more than 225-thousand square feet, the biggest of all the presidential libraries.  That's 100 times bigger than my house, and a heckuva lot of space to fill.

Now I know that I'll never be president, but I wouldn't mind having a presidential library some day. In fact, I've got a lot of important papers that I believe future generations should have a chance to see.

Here is just a partial list.

1. Old grade school folders, like the one pictured above. In the 1970's, it was okay to have a sticker advertising beer at school.

2. A 6th grade report on "The Unexplained of Ancient Times." This handwritten report spent a lot of time on the theories of Erich Von Daniken, which said that the pyramids and other such structures were built by aliens.

3. An unfinished novel in a blue spiral notebook. Having just read The Outsiders, I have around 80 pages of a story about a gang of hoods in New York who find and adopt a baby.  The gritty realism is astounding.

4. A folder filled with newspaper clippings about the death of Elvis Presley. Glued to typing paper, and nicely faded.

5. The TV script I wrote for the TV show Fame  when I was in college. It was a project that was supposed to be completed over an entire semester.   I wrote it in 3 days.

6. My autobiography, written in 8th grade. It was supposed to be around 15 pages long, but at that point I'd only made it through kindergarten. Including photos, it was more than 50 pages.

7. A wide assortment of birthday cards, including some sent to my parents when I was born.

8. Programs from junior high school football games I attended.

9. Copies of my junior high school newspaper, The Patriot Press. I was a key contributor, often writing the horoscopes and word search puzzles.

10.  A letter from the people with the TV show Hoarders, offering to help me cut through the clutter. No wait...I haven't received that yet.

Mayflies: faschinating, or horrifying? You decide.
The mayflies were out in full force over the past couple days. Now I've heard about these insects over the years, but have never experienced a mayfly swarm. I think I'm pretty happy about that. Apparently the mayflies were so thick they...

If you were listening to Triple M on the morning of Thursday July 17th, you may have thought somehow we slipped back to 1965. But it wasn't an old song we were playing--it was a brand new one from the Los Angeles band the Bayonets, called "Crash...

It's not *that* kind of pool party! ~ Stevi
Pool party's are the best! ...Until someone decides to drive a vehicle in for a swim. Someone should have told her Jeeps don't make good pool toys, and aren't boyant. Check it out, it'll make you feel better about that time you walked out...

The new Pink Floyd album won't be what you're hoping for
A lot of Pink Floyd fans got a little bit excited over the weekend, after the wife of David Gilmour announced that a new Pink Floyd album would be coming out this October. Even though Roger Waters wouldn't be a part of it, the idea of the first...

World's Worst iPod: Alice Cooper "You and Me"
Can a song be so horrible that it's actually awesome? Well, if that is possible, here is an example: Alice Cooper's emotional ballad "You and Me" from 1977. I'm not sure we could think up a more hideous lyric than "we shared a bed, some...
