Kitty's College Radio Playlist

A little over a week ago, I went back to my college radio station, 90FM in Stevens Point, to reunite with an awesome cast of characters from my past. A great time was had by all, and I was launched into a crazy period of nostalgia (even more intense than my usual tendencies).

I told you I'd post my playlist from my two hour airshift, and now, at long last, here it is.

Kitty's Back--Bruce Springsteen (can you think of a more perfect one to kick things off)
Old Stompin' Ground--Rory Gallagher
Girls Talk--Dave Edmunds
Hey Grandma--Moby Grape
Save It For a Rainy Day--Jayhawks (Live from Studio M version)
6:00 News--Kathleen Edwards (another Live From Studio M track)
Two Hangmen--Mason Prophet
Homework--J. Geils Band
Busted Afternoon--Old 97s
Impermanent Things--Peter  Himmelman
Gypsy--Suzanne Vega
Dusty Turnaround--Lizzie West
Ain't Hurtin' Nobody--John Prine
Disco Kid--Shortstuff (this was a miscue, really wanted to play a different track)
Sweet Goddess of Love and Beer--Popa Chubby
I Made a Mistake (the day I made my girlfriend my wife)--Shortstuff (THIS was the one I wanted).
May This Be Love--Emmylou Harris
Tomorrow Never Knows--Beatles
Steady As She Goes--Ranconteurs
California (Hustle and Flow)--Social Distortion
I Think Hank Woulda Done it this way--Blue Chieftains
Hole in Shoes Working Man Blues--Mighty Short Bus
Jesus On The Grille--Willy Porter
I Want You--Beatles
Blazin' Your Own Trail Again--R.E.O. Speedwagon

World's Worst iPod:Escape Club "Wild Wild West"
Remember when we were headed for the 90s..and grooving to the Escape Club? This band from London scored a number 1 hit in 1988 with the song "Wild Wild West." It's probably the only song you remember from that band--but they weren't a...

World's Worst iPod: Wayne Newton "Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast"
With Father's Day coming up, we thought we'd choose one of the greatest dad songs of all time.  But since that song wasn't on the iPod, we decided to go with "Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast" by Wayne Newton. This song made...

Day 4: The Final Day of Bonnaroo
Today was another busy day at Bonnaroo. We started the day off by seeing Shakey Graves. I missed his show in Madison earlier this year so he was a must see on my list. Loved him! Right as he ended, a press conference with Ed Helms, Abigail...

Day 3: Saturday
Saturday was a very busy day! So many Triple M bands to see! So many concerts were back to back, so we did a lot of walking back and forth from the stages to the media compound. If you're ever in need of getting more steps in during the day,...

Day 2: Friday - Variety, the Spice of Life
Day 2 is upon us! Despite being up fairly late and not sleeping super well (first time camping...I'll get used to it I'm sure), I was hoping to sleep in just a little bit, but my body had other plans. It woke me up at 5:45am for the hell of it. I...

Day 1: Thursday
Hey all! It's your Bonnaroo Backstage Blogger Kellie here! I finally have some down time to write about my experiences.  My sister and I left for Bonnaroo at about 5:30am on Thrusday morning with quite a full car. Both the back seat and the...

World's Worst iPod: Engelbert Humperdinck "After the Lovin'"
One of the great things about radio in the 60s and 70s is the variety of music that made it onto the radio.  A rock song by Led Zeppelin could be followed up by Paul Anka or Andy Williams. A polka could make it to top 40 right alongside a disco song...

5 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Breese Stevens Field
With the big concert with the Avett Brothers and Brett Dennen coming up at Breese Stevens Field in October, I did a little digging to find out more about the facility that was just put on the National Register of Historic Places last year. 1. I always...
