Real Life Scary Monsters
These aren't really monsters, but I wouldn't want to find any of these under the bed or in my closet!

Think You Know Everything About the Simpsons?
As you may know, I'm a huge Simpsons fan.  I know a lot of facts about the show and if you're a big fan you probably do too.  I knew some of the facts in this video, but not all of them.  If you love The Simpsons, you'll love this video.

Band on the Run. Actually on the Moonwalk.
Like any good Wisconsin Badger alum, I'm a big fan of the school's marching band.  I've always loved the 5th quarter and band leader Mike Leckrone is a legend.  However, I have to tip my cap (if I was actually wearing one) to the band from one of the other schools in the Big Ten.

It was annoying when the Badgers lost to Ohio State earlier this year in football, but this performance by the Ohio State band recently is pretty amazing.  You don't have to watch the whole thing.  Just fast forward to about 4:35 and watch how the band turns into a giant Michael Jackson and even does a moonwalk.

Really Honey, Hanging with the Guys is Good For Me
I've never been a big "hang out with the guys" kinda guy.  I like my guy friends, but I really don't need to hang out at a bar with them on a regular basis.  In fact, my two best friends don't live in Madison.  A quick phone call to either Keith or Larry as I'm running an errand usually does the trick for me.  I don't have to spend too much time, but we get a chance to catch up and have a laugh.

However, I may be changing my tune soon.  Apparently a study shows it's actually healthy for guys to hang out with other guys.  An Oxford professor says that while "talking with mates" on a daily basis is useful, guys should hang out twice a week and "do stuff".

I bet when my wife sees this she'll be pushing me out of the house more or better yet she'll be looking for a study that says women need to hang out with their friends at least three nights a week.

World's Worst iPod: Hall & Oates "Method of Modern Love"
Hall & Oates had a lot of great hits in the 1970s and 1980s, and if you believe a lot of folks, this is NOT one of them! This song with its amazing spelling lesson hook made it all the way to #5 on the charts in February of 1985. We're a...

Mayflies: faschinating, or horrifying? You decide.
The mayflies were out in full force over the past couple days. Now I've heard about these insects over the years, but have never experienced a mayfly swarm.  I think I'm pretty happy about that. Apparently the mayflies were so thick they...
