The holy grail of comic books was sold the other day for 1 million bucks. Yes, ONE MILLION DOLLARS. No names are being mentioned for either the buyer or seller. However, I have a guess on who may have bought it.
First, let's talk a little more about the comic itself. It's the Action Comics with Superman on the front lifting a car. It's the debut comic for The Man of Steel and originally sold for 10 cents.
There are a few copies of this comic, but experts say this copy is one of the best because it is in such fine condition. Past copies of Action Comics #1 have sold for about $400,000.
So who do you think bought it? I think it might be Jerry Seinfeld. As you may know, he's a Superman freak. In fact, in every single episode of Seinfeld he either made reference to The Man of Steel or you could see something Superman related in the background.
I know Seinfeld is busy working on his new show The Marriage Ref which is going to fill the black hole formally known as The Jay Leno Show. But let's be honest, Seinfeld isn't doing that much these days and he's got tons of money. How could he NOT buy it? I wonder if when you're rich and have tons of money to burn if you end up buying many many things you do not need. I've decided to create a list of items I would buy if I had a bottomless wallet:
1) All the uniforms from the 1906, 1917 and 2005 White Sox World Series Championship Teams
2) James Taylor (I would have him write a new song to wake me up with each morning)
3) Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer (Those are all the cast members of the Simpsons) They could recreate Simpson episodes in my home.
4) Matt Groening (creator of the Simpsons) to write fresh episodes for me.
5) A clone of me to get up early and do the morning show when I didn't feel like it.
6) Lots of chocolate
7) Health care for everyone
8) 365 pairs of underwear
Notice how chocolate for me is higher than health care for the nation. Sad, but at least health care is above my underwear a day request.
The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, it is another gorgeous Monday, fit for another great show at the Crystal Corner tonight.
Through locking ourselves in the barn on Irish Lane, tossing some ideas around, as well as a few choice beverages to...
Hey everybody, we were thrown for a loop by the twist this week, but were able to make one of our "oldie but a goldie" songs fit the mold.
We have a few songs that we have played consistently over the years, and we are very happy that we will be...
We just received word of what this weeks twist is, and...oh boy. We need to take our "signature song" and cut it to only 2:30 without going over. Amberstein does not simply play 2:30 versions of our songs...so this could be interesting.

In 1984, Rockwell rose to number 2 for 3 weeks in 1984 with "Somebody's Watching Me." The backup singer for the song was Michael Jackson. How did Rockwell get Jackson to help him? Well, Rockwell's real name is Kennedy William Gordy and he...
Have you heard the song "Rumble and Sway" yet on Triple M?
The singer sounds like a raspy blues dude who's definitely been around the block a few times....but surprisingly, Jamie N. Commons is only 23 years old!
He was born in England, but...
Last week, I decided I would try one new, healthy food a week, and asked my facebook friends to make some suggestions.
The first thing I tried was mango. I'm sure I've had other mango flavored things, and mango as part of something else, but...
There's only one thing that might be worse than the Neil Diamond/Barbra Streisand duet "You Don't Bring Me Flowers." And that's Jonathan Suttin doing his best crooning...doing both parts. Most unpleasant.
A lot of people liked this song...
