Christmas is just a few days away and it’s already Chanukah!
We celebrate both holidays at our house. We got a small tree this year, so we could put it up on a table. My darn cat Mikey practically destroyed a tree several years ago, so now he doesn’t have a chance to get near it…hopefully.
Last night I lit the first night of Chanukah candles. And I tried something I haven’t done in decades! I made, from scratch, potato pancakes ( latkes). I usually make it from a Manischewitz mix, but my grocery store stopped selling that brand and I don’t like the other one, so there we were, grating potatoes and onions, adding the egg and flour and frying them up nice and crispy. Tim said they were delicious, but I think I left out something, because they just weren’t right.
I guess I have a few more days of Chanukah to try again.
