On this Veteran's Day, my voice joins millions of others in sending out a big thank you to all veterans, and those currently working in service of our country. I also send out a wish for peace.
"Give peace a chance," was a song John Lennon quote created spontaneously as he and Yoko Ono did their famous bed-ins for peace several decades ago. Now Yoko is carrying that torch with her Imagine Peace Tower in Iceland. She lights it every year on John's birthday (October 9th) and remains lit until the anniversary of his death in December.
She encourages every one to send their wishes for peace..via mail, email, twitter or facebook.
If you go the Imagine Peace website, you'll see a map showing all the places in the world where people are on that website, thinking about peace, all at the same time. It's kind of a cool feeling.
