What does Kitty have to say?

I'm off to see the Wizard--in 3D!

So when I first read that Warner Bros. was releasing The Wizard of Oz in 3D and on Imax, I was pretty sure I wasn't going to want to fork out the money to go see it.

That's because when I paid around 40 bucks for the Blu-ray of the movie a few years ago, I didn't think it seemed that much improved over the regular DVD.  I refused to believe the nonsense hype of the man behind the curtain.

Then I started reading the reviews--and this is one that really caught my eye. Laura DeMarco of the Cleveland Plain Dealer wrote "The twister was terrifying! The poppies in the field look so real they made me sleepy."

Not that I want to fall asleep at the theatre--but that sounded intriguing. Add the behind the scenes info in the video below, and the fact that it is my favorite movie of all time...and it looks pretty certain that this one-time Munchkin will be heading to the theatre in the next week to see it on the really, really, really big screen.

The Wizard of Oz 3D is showing in Imax for just one week, and then the 3D Blu-ray will be released. In our area, it's showing at AMC Star Fitchburg. It opens on Friday.

The late 1970s weren't necessarily a great time for music, but there were a few gems. This song may or may not have been one of them. We got a lot of love for Jay Ferguson's "Thunder Island" which was a hit in early 1978. It made it up to...
