How to welcome Favre?

waffle It's become a hot topic of debate. When Brett Favre returns to Lambeau on Sunday, will the crowd cheer him, or boo him? Green Bay's mayor is taking suggestions on the city's website. They've included creating the world's largest waffle in the shape of the number4 (where do you buy that waffle iron?), and announcing that his number will be retired, then changing their mind. They might even change the name of Green Bay's Minnesota Street to Aaron Rodgers Way or something like that. While some columnists have urged fans to cheer Favre, LeRoy Butler feels otherwise. He says if you're going to cheer Favre, wear a bag on your head. (Click here for more). I'm not going to the game so I guess it doesn't matter what I think...but I'm really having trouble with this! What would I do if I was going to Lambeau? I decided to look to some great philosophical minds for help. Could Gandhi help? He said "Hate the sin. Love the sinner."  So we cheer him, right? I decided to get a second opinion, from that great old philosopher Vince Lombardi, who once said, "Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn't do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another."   Favre isn't known as the best team player..so I guess that means we boo him. This is what I'd really do if I were at Lambeau this Sunday. Right before they introduce the team lineups, I'd head for the bathroom. I bet the lines would be really short.

I don't think I could boo him, he did give us 16 wonderful years and weren't called the Heart Attack Pack for nothing. If I were there I would probably end up crying. I still wish he was ours. I don't agree with the argument that this was all Ted Thompsons fault. There was a meeting set up with Brett to discuss his come back and 2 days before the meeting, Favre said he was gonna stay retired so we went with Aaron. What were the Packers supposed to do, wait for him to un-retire? Play his little diva game? Make Packer fans suffer? We even told him to compete against Aaron for the starting quarterback position but that was beneth Brett. So, all in all I still love him, hate he is playing for the Vik-queens and was happy to see him throw an interception to the Steelers and the defending champs handed him his first loss, one of many to come. (Maybe I deep down really don't love him anymore huh?) I just didn't like the sneaky way he did this, guess he was too good for training camp too. DBD

Mayflies: faschinating, or horrifying? You decide.
The mayflies were out in full force over the past couple days. Now I've heard about these insects over the years, but have never experienced a mayfly swarm. I think I'm pretty happy about that. Apparently the mayflies were so thick they...
