So Neil Young won his first Grammy last night. Was it for his latest album? Wel, sort of, but not exactly. Was it for his lifetime of work and all the songs he's written? Nope. It was for the packaging for his box set, "Neil Young, Archives Volume 1."
Okay it does look like the packaging is kinda cool. I think it costs around $300 so it should be pretty awesome, and it does come with a lot of extra doo-dads and glossy inserts. But it almost seems they're throwing him a "oh crap he's really getting old isn't he" award with this one.
I would have thought he'd have gotten some other Grammy by now...maybe with one of his other bands, like Buffalo Springfield or Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. But apparently not!
On Saturday night, Neil Young did get another award from the Grammy's...the MusiCares award for his charity work. A whole bunch of artists played Neil's songs to pay tribute to him..including..Josh Groban. (Really, Josh Groban?)
I found a news story about it online..it's worth checking out even if it's just to see how crazy and disheveled David Crosby is looking these days.
