On Monday, I announced on the air that my wife, Lindsay and I are expecting our first baby next month. It’s finally time for me to make the transition from mildly responsible adult to totally responsible adult. The idea of being in charge of another human being sounded terrifying to me several years ago, but now it actually sounds exciting.
A few of my friends had children when they were in their early 20s. I’ve often said to them I couldn’t imagine having a kid when I was that young. Most of them tell me they really didn’t think about it much. Perhaps that was my problem in the past, I was thinking about too much.
It doesn’t really matter now because in about a month it’s game on. I’ve received a lot of advice from a lot of different people. The one theme I keep hearing over and over is how this will change my life forever.
