Winners, My Dear, Winners
If I've learned one thing this week, it's that we Wisconsinites sure know our deer.

This week's captions are some of the best we've had all year, and to think I wasn't even sure if I'd get ANY!
So, here we go, with this week's winners, starting with the honorable mentions:

Leigh Lottridge
Grab your partner, doe-si-doe!

Todd B
The annual forest re-enactment of Rocky was nothing short of spectacular.

G.V. Parmelli
"Jazz hooves, dear, jazz hooves!"

BrianP
The zombie apocalypse takes a strange turn

Geno
We get it almost every night. When that moon gets big and bright. it's a supernatural delight. Everybody was dancing in the moonlight

Paul H H
Rudolph wasn’t too proud to admit that at first the idea of taking ballroom dancing classes didn’t really float his boat; but, over time he came around…

Carl
Illinois folks wonder why we have all of those "dancing deer" signs along our highways. This is why.

This week WINNER get a pair of tickets to the Sun Prairie Blues Fest. Please contact me!
Jeri G

Hoist several beverages for this week's WINNERS
Is summer almost over already? Where did it go? Anyway, that has nothing to do with this week’s caption contest winners, who gave me some EXCELLENT captions

We start with Anne’s version of a biblical quote
Anne U.
Jesus to the 2012 disciples: Red Solo Cup, I lift you up, proceed to party!

Then we had two who commented on the gown.
Carl
This Beer Pong can be such a drag sometimes, I...well, I decided to dress the part.

Lori O
So, how many of you knew that Jesus would show up in a wedding dress....

This one is short and to the point!
Chris
You apostles sure need a lot of proof that I love you!

I was hoping to get a fraternity caption, so thanks !

Boat Drynx
"For I say unto you, that except your drunkenness shall exceed the drunkenness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of Phi Delta Kappa."

Parmelli always makes me laugh
G.V. Parmelli
"All I'm sayin', Big J, is that one should not have to go out of one's way for an affordable drink and some eye candy," explained apostle #5.

And this week’s TWO winners, who actually noticed Sponge Bob, and will BOTH get seats in an upcoming Studio M ( contact me you two) are:
Kraig
Jesus Christ, let's just hope this is the Last time you spill the wine. Squarepants, slide on over and sponge up this mess. Why do you think we even allowed you to pledge the Disciples?

John C.
Sponge Bob hides in the corner, ashamed that he was about to betray Jesus.

Look for the final photo of the unofficial end to the summer next Wednesday. Have a great weekend!

So many guitars, so many favorites

So, my favorite guitarists? There is quite a list of people I admire:
Mark Knopfler; Carlos Santana; Jerry Garcia; Jeff Beck, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Aaron Williams, Duane Allman, Eric Clapton, Richard Thompson, Lowell George, Leo Kottke, just to name a few.
All are great, some are brilliant and some are genius, but I DO have one favorite, that stands heads and shoulders above all the rest.. no, not Trey Anastasio ( although I adore him).

For me, there is one ONE great guitarist and it's Frank Zappa.

If you think of Zappa as the " Don't Eat the Yellow Snow" and the Montana dental floss tycoon guy you are missing out on some of the finest solo's ever burned to vinyl. ( yes, vinyl). I recommend starting with any of the 3 albums called " Shut up and Play 'yer Guitar", although most albums are chock full of solos.
Here's a little taste treat:

The problem with holiday sweaters--and it's not that they're ugly
Holiday sweaters--oh we love to mock them! Ugly holiday sweater parties have become so mainstream that I feel they are no longer ironic. But that's not what I'm going to gripe about. My problem is that ugly holiday sweaters are now becoming...

It's hard to believe a novelty song like this went all the way up the charts to number one---but it did, and actually stayed there for two weeks! It seemed most everyone, excluding our meteorologist Brian Olson wanted to hear this song, which came...

Jeff the Promo Guy's Top 2014 Picks
2014 had a ton of great new album releases, and I easily came up with more than 10 to reference. I would have loved to include The Fray, Angus & Julia Stone, Bleachers, Alt-J, and George Ezra… but they just didn't make it on my Top 10 list. Here...
