Aah...another Willy Street Fair is now just a sweet (and foggy) memory. It's my favorite Madison festival...despite the fact that it marks the end of summer. I always run into so many old friends, and meet new ones too! It was great seeing so many listeners yesterday who seemed almost as glad as I was that I'm recovering well from my recent surgery.
In addition to the friends, beer, and food, of course the Willy Street Fair means live music. This year the grand finale on the main stage was Wayne Baker Brooks, son of the legendary Chicago bluesman Lonnie Brooks.
One of the things Lonnie loves to do is to take his guitar out into the crowd..and Wayne used that technique yesterday as well..so I grabbed my camera to get a quick shot of Wayne wowing us with his stratocaster.
Eventually Wayne made it over to to the table where I had been sitting with some friends. He hopped up on my chair!
And that made my good friend Melvin jump for joy! He's the guy in the green checked shirt. Woo hoo!
