Harrison records at Abbey Road..no, not that one
Dhani Harrison went back to his old stomping grounds, London's Abbey Road Studios, to record the score for the new movie Beautiful Creatures which comes out next month.

Dhani, the son of the late Beatle George Harrison, told Rolling Stone that he spent a lot of time there as a child when his dad was recording there, but this was the first time he recorded at the legendary studio.

He and his band thenewno2 have released one song that will be featured on the soundtrack. It's called "Never Too Late."

Head over to Rolling Stone's website to give it a listen.

Look for thenewno2 opening for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club May 15th at the Barrymore Theatre in Madison.

The Master and the Young Guitar-Slinger

One established legends and another soon to be have teamed in a recent ad campain for designer John Varvatos. Led Zepplin guitarist and all around rockstar Jimmy Page and up and coming blues guitarist Gary Clark Jr. take center stage in the video for Varvatos' Spring/Summer 2013 collection. In it, Clark Jr. is seen playing in an open hall while elsewhere, Page rides through London in a black cab. The video ends as Page reaches to door presumably leading to the hall in which Clark is playing.

This most recent campaign is the latest in a line of ads from Varvatos featuring legendary musicians such as Paul Weller, Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop and Slash. Of Page, Varvatos says "[he] has been a music and fashion icon of mine since 1970. He has been a major influence and I am honored to call Jimmy a friend." And Clark?  "[He's] is the real deal - amazing guitar player, singer, songwriter and friend. Having 'The Master' and the 'Young Guitar-Slinger' together in our campaign is a dream come true."

Bowie releases first new song in 10 years
It's been ten years since we got any new songs from David Bowie. On his 66th birthday he released a new song, called "Where Are We Now," and for those of us that were hoping for something peppy like "Changes" or "Let's Dance," we may have to pin our hopes on the full album.
The album The Next Day is Bowie's 30th studio recording. It's called "The Next Day," and is available for pre-order on Bowie's website.

The dreary (or perhaps dreamy?) song's release also came with a new video which features shots of Berlin and is more than a bit creepy.

World's Worst iPod: LeBlanc & Carr "Falling"
LeBlanc and Carr were Lenny LeBlanc and Pete Carr, two Muscle Shoals studio musicians who hit the top 40 in 1978 with their hit "Falling." It made it up to #13 on the charts and was perfect for clumsy teenage slow dancing! Musically, these guys were...

You might want to see "Once" twice
