If you happened to catch the Kennedy Center Honors program on CBS the other night, chances are you were pleasantly surprised to be introduced to blues singer Beth Hart.
Who?
That's what I thought, when she was introduced as part of the tribute to blues legend Buddy Guy. She took the stage with another icon, Jeff Beck, and proceeded to give a jaw-dropping, gut-wrenching rendition of "I'd Rather Go Blind." Even Buddy Guy was blown away, if the look on his face was any indication.
The Los Angeles singer has been around since the 1990's, but her career got a jump-start when she met guitar player Joe Bonamossa, and they recorded an album together that came out in 2011.
In 2012 she released an album called "Bang Bang Boom Boom," and after her performance at the Kennedy Center Honors, it's possible her career just might explode.
Atlas Genius is one of those fairy tale stories of success your hear every now and then. Hailing from Australia, the band recorded "Trojans" in their self-built studio in home town of Adelaide and threw it on the internet like every other new band is apt to do. Afterwards, they returned to school to resume their oridnary lives. Unknown to them, the song began being picked up by blogs and gaining steam on internet music sites. They soon found a mailbox full emails from fans, interviewers, promoters, and agents.
After touring the United States with bands like Silversun Pickups, Wolf Gang, and Animal Kingdom this summer, they are now ready to release their first studio album entitled "When It Was Now" on Feb. 19th. Be sure to check them out for some fresh Indie jams and catchy riffs.

Today is World Goth Day, a day to celebrate the post-punk, anti-establishment, dark clothes-wearing subculture.
I'm pretty sure I was a Goth for at least for little while, for two reasons.
1) I almost hardly ever wear pastels.
2) I used to...
Hello to all from Nfusion. Another round of challenges has moved beyond us all. Congrats to those of us lucky enough to have survived to this point. Sad to see the others eliminated as they were all very creative and talented. Good Bye to our new friends...
This morning it seemed like just about everyone was in the mood for some Funky Cold Medina...except Kitty. This ridiculous song made it all the way to number 3 in 1989. Jonathan says any song that references advertising dogs from the 80's has got...

It's a miracle that both Jonathan and KItty wanted to hear Barry Manilow this morning. They were not alone. Plenty of Fanilow's called in to vote yes. One caller claimed to have seen Manilow in concert 25 times!
The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, it is another gorgeous Monday, fit for another great show at the Crystal Corner tonight.
Through locking ourselves in the barn on Irish Lane, tossing some ideas around, as well as a few choice beverages to...
Hey everybody, we were thrown for a loop by the twist this week, but were able to make one of our "oldie but a goldie" songs fit the mold.
We have a few songs that we have played consistently over the years, and we are very happy that we will be...
