Pitchfork TV has just posted a video to get you into the holiday spirit. It's CeeLo Green (from Gnarls Barkley and the TV show The Voice) who has teamed up with the Muppets and Santa for a fun little number called "All I Need is Love."
Can you spot all these muppets in the video? Pepe the Prawn, Swedish Chef, Rowlf, Dr. Teeth, Bobo, Bubba, Mahna Mahna, Gonzo, Waldorf, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Beauregard, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, Sam Eagle, Snowth, Kermit, Statler, Beaker, Rizzo, and Snowth.
The song is available on the album CeeLo's Magic Moment, which you can get on iTunes.
While some folks will be getting up early on the day after Thanksgiving to try and get their hands on a super cheap big screen TV or overhyped toy, others will be heading out to get some cool vinyl deals on Record Store Day (the Black Friday edition).
I was perusing the list of records that will be available at participating stores (while supplies last, of course)...and it looks like there's something for just about every type of vinyl junkie.
Some of the things that piqued my interest:
*David Bowie: 7" vinyl picture disc of JeanGenie
*Bob Dylan: 7 " single of Duquesne Whistle (title song of his newest album)
*Grateful Dead "Live at Winterland" 5/30/71 gatefold double album set
*Wanda Jackson "Capitol Rarities" 10 " vinyl
*Buck Owens "Buck Sings Eagles" 10" vinyl
*Rolling Stones EP (reissue of the 1964 original)
*The White Stripes (3 different 7" singles on colored vinyl)
Please note: not all releases available in all stores.
The Rolling Stones have released the second new song from their new greatest hits album, GRR! that comes out November 13th in North America.
It's called "One More Shot" and Neil McCormick of the London Telegraph calls it "dirty, swaggering and perfectly Stonesy."
GRR! is coming out in several different formats and editions, and both this new song and the previously released "Doom and Gloom" will be included on all of them.
There's a lot of buzz about a Texas bluesman named Gary Clark, Jr. In fact, the New York Times says 'this singer-guitarist may be the next Hendrix."
I'm not sure I'm ready to go that far, but he sure has a lot of talent, which he demonstrates in the new CD, Blak and Blu. Rolling Stone says it's a mix of R & B, retro soul, psychedelia and garage rock, but says he's at his best when he's playing the blues.
I first got to see Clark at the Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago in 2010, and I thought he was great, and so did the folks at Warner Bros Records because they signed him to a contract. And since then, he's been touring non-stop, jammed with the Roots on Jimmy Fallon, and even got to play at the White House, at that "Red, White, and Blues" event at the White House that featured every one from B.B. King to Buddy Guy and Mick Jagger.
Led Zeppelin's reunion concert from December 2007 will be released for home video sales on December 19th. Here's a teaser, the full version of Kashmir from the concert.
Bruce Springsteen will be joining President Barack Obama for a rally in Madison the day before the election on Monday. Springsteen will perform at the morning rally and introduce the president.
It will mark a return visit for Springsteen to Wisconsin's capital city. He also campaigned for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry in Madison in 2004. That visit attracted about 80,000 people.
Happy birthday to the Cute Beatle, SIr Paul McCartney! He turns 71 today.
One of the rules for Beatles fans is that you must memorize tidbits of Beatle trivia to try and impress other Beatle fans. This is not that easy to do....as things like...
In 1968, Jeannie C. Riley topped both the pop and country charts with "Harper Valley PTA". She was the first female singer to accomplish that feat and it wasn't repeated until Dolly Parton did it in 1981 with the song "9 to 5". The song was...

Apparently Oreo flavored Oreos are not sufficient.
Nabisco is continuing its trend of introducing special limited edition flavors for its Oreo cookies. Last year, the internet was all abuzz about candy corn Oreos, which supposedly didn't really...
One small detail I like about Bonnaroo ... the security people's shirts say "Safety" and "Here to help". They seem well-trained and they do the things security folk do ... but I like the emphasis on safety and that they're doing these things...
