Fans of the Dave Matthews band are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the band's next album "Away From the World.". Due out September 11th, the album was recorded with Steve Lillywhite, who produced their first three studio albums-- "Under The Table And Dreaming," "Crash" and "Before These Crowded Streets."
Dave has told interviewers that the overwhelming theme of the new record is LOVE.
It's not exactly a new idea, but Dave tells Billboard he doesn't want the band to be just remembered as a jam band. "What does that mean, even?" he asks.
He says perhaps what his fans see in the band is "the love and joy we have playing together."
You can certainly feel that joy in this video for the song "Mercy" off the forthcoming album. The band solicited its fans to make videos and send in photos for the song...edited them all together and this is what they came up with.
It's pretty darn cool. You can almost feel the love.
Bob Dylan's been teasing us about his 35th album "Tempest," which comes out September 11th, giving us a hint or two along the way. Today he released the video for the song "Duquesne Whistle."
Rolling Stone calls it "shockingly violent." I'm not sure I'd go that far, but I will say it's a bit bizarre. I't doesn't seem that the video, directed by Nash Edgerton, has anything to do with the song.
Didn't get enough Garbage at the Duck Pond earlier in August?
Perhaps this new video from the band will be just the thing to trip your trigger.
Directed by Julie Orser, it really has some amazing images. Quite beautiful to watch!
On a side note, Garbage has just announced it will be going to Russia to play in six different cities during the first part of November. Let's just hope they don't say anything bad about Vladimir Putin, or they might end up spending Christmas in a not too festive prison.
Are you getting excited for the arrival of the first in Green Day's trilogy of albums?
The power-pop album ¡Uno! comes out September 25th, but we're slowly but surely are getting more hints of what the album will be like. The band debuted the song "Oh Love" around a month ago, and now has released another song, called Kill the DJ.
Here at Triple M, we're trying not to be offended by the title.
Give a listen.
The band has also released an official video for "Oh Love."
Mumford & Sons have a new album coming out on September 25th. "Babel" is the long awaited follow-up to "Sigh No More," which came out way back in 2009.
The band is giving us little hint of what the album will sound like with the release of the first single, called "I Will Wait," which you'll be able to hear on New Music Thursday on 105.5 Triple M.
You can also give the song a listen here. It starts off melodic and slow, builds to a frenzy, and has a wild banjo solo and a fun shout-along chorus. What more could we ask for?
The Broadway musical Wicked has flown back into town, thrilling fans at the Overture Center now through June 9th.
I got a chance to see the production for the 2nd time last night, and once again was blown away. Even though I saw Wicked in 2010, I had...
Today we traveled back to 1975 for a Rendezvous with The Hudson Brothers. This song didn't make it to high on the charts, but Kitty enjoyed it. Her favorite brother was Brett. She also loved their television show. We've included a skit from...
I'm not sure why Pete Yorn decided to name his new music project after a European cave dwelling aquatic salamander, but if he stops by to play us some songs in Studio M, we'll have to ask him.
The Olms is a collaboration between Pete Yorn and...
Today's song was written by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary. It was inspired by the 1957 novel Doctor Zhivago. No one was inspired by the song this morning. It was rejected by almost all the listeners.
Today is World Goth Day, a day to celebrate the post-punk, anti-establishment, dark clothes-wearing subculture.
I'm pretty sure I was a Goth for at least for little while, for two reasons.
1) I almost hardly ever wear pastels.
2) I used to...
Hello to all from Nfusion. Another round of challenges has moved beyond us all. Congrats to those of us lucky enough to have survived to this point. Sad to see the others eliminated as they were all very creative and talented. Good Bye to our new friends...
This morning it seemed like just about everyone was in the mood for some Funky Cold Medina...except Kitty. This ridiculous song made it all the way to number 3 in 1989. Jonathan says any song that references advertising dogs from the 80's has got...
