What does Kitty have to say?

For the love of old crappy cars

We had a great time this morning waxing philosophical about the old crappy cars we had in our younger days. My first car was a 1979 Ford Pinto that burned so much oil I had to stop midway between Madison and Stevens Point and add a a quart (or two). The car picture  above looks very similar to mine.

All the stories of cars with no reverse, that had to be hot-wired to start, or that shot flames out of the exhaust (not on purpose) reminded me of this classic song from  the Bottle Rockets. It probably needs to be updated for inflation.

World's Worst iPod: Mac and Katie Kissoon "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep"
There was a lot of love this morning for a song that made it up to #20 in 1971 for the brother sister team of Mac and Katie Kissoon. The pair hailed from Trinidad and this was their only Top 40 hit.

World's Worst iPod: Robbie Nevil "C'est La Vie"
"That's just the way things go," croons Robbie Nevil in the soong "C'est La Vie." Despite the fact that the theme seemed to fit the way a lot of people feel today, there just wasn't enough to support playing it in its entirety. Released...
